WA Notify Also Known As Washington Exposure Notifications has been released to the public and announced by Governor Jay Inslee on Twitter. Wa Notify uses bluetooth to spread a random code that then can be used later to send covid exposure notifications privately without releases who or where the exposure happened.
No location data is stored and the app is 100% free.
We know masks, distancing and limiting interactions slow COVID-19’s spread.
Today, we’re announcing a new tool – WA Notify.
It’s an anonymous exposure notification tool that alerts you if you spent time near another user who tests positive for COVID-19.
When voluntarily activated, phones with WA Notify use Bluetooth technology to exchange random codes with the phones of other users they are near. It does this without revealing a user’s identity or location.

This is not a replacement for our other mitigation efforts. We all still need to do everything we can to stop the spread.
WA Notify compliments those actions by informing you quickly when you’ve been exposed to another WA Notify user with COVID-19.
WA Notify is free, it’s private and it can help protect you and your loved ones from COVID-19. I encourage all Washingtonians to start using it.
